Below are a few of our most frequently asked questions.

1. How does a windshield repair/replacement affect my policy?
This type of claim is covered under your comprehensive coverage on your auto policy. Should you have a windshield repair, there is no money paid by you, the client. There is also no impact on your rates with this type of claim. Should you require a windshield replacement, there is still no impact to your premium, however you are required to pay your deductible. A frequency of this type of claim may effect the deductible or continued existence of glass coverage.

2. What are your payment options?
There are different payment options for different companies. You are recommended to discuss them with an insurance broker. A general overview of options are:
  • Direct withdrawal monthly payment plans
  • Half of the balance upon renewal and half in 30 days
  • 1/3 of the balance on renewal and two postdated cheques in 30 & 60 days of equal amounts
  • Visa/MasterCard
  • Interact
  • Internet payments
  • In-house financing available

3. Do I have coverage if I rent a car?
Many of our clients choose to add rental car coverage to their auto policies. This coverage is inexpensive compared to that that you would pay the rental car companies. You should discuss this coverage with your broker as certain conditions apply.

4. What do I do if I am trading or purchasing new vehicle?
Please get the VINN or serial number from the dealership or seller, then contact us. Your broker will ask you a few questions regarding the usage and coverages required on the vehicle. The change can be made and a pink card can be provided for you promptly. If the auto dealership is looking after this aspect, please call to confirm all the information has been received by us.

5. How do I register for AIR MILES™ reward miles?
As a client of ICPEI, you are entitled to collect AIR MILES™ reward miles on your automobile, property and commercial insurance (this does not apply to bonds). You will receive one reward mile for every $20 you spend on an ICPEI insurance policy. To sign up and start collecting reward miles, just call ICPEI's reward mile registration number, toll free, at 1-866-417-5577. You'll need your AIR MILES™ collector number and your ICPEI policy number(s) with a renewal or new business effective date of July 1, 2005 or later.

You have one full year to register your policy in the program. To start collecting reward miles you must be an AIR MILES™ collector. If you are not currently an AIR MILES™ collector, you can register by calling
1-888-AIR MILES(1-888-247-6453), or visit the Air Miles™ web site today.

Once you register your policy, it continues to collect AIR MILES™ reward miles until it is expired or canceled. This means you will not have to re-register for the policy each year unless for some reason your policy number changes. As well, you do need to register each ICPEI policy separately.

6. Are there benefits to having all my insurance with Charlie Cooke Insurance?
Yes, there are several advantages:

  • There are additional discounts that can be applied to your policies when they are placed with the same company.
  • You hold a stronger portfolio with your insurance company. Your company could be more accommodating with special requests when they see more than one piece of business with them.
  • There are additional benefits that may be offered to you. For example, some companies offer a waived deductible in the event of a claim, and no increase in premium following your first property loss.
