5 Great Things to Experience in PEI

With the state of the Canadian dollar and international travel bringing security concerns, vacationing close to home is the choice of many. What better way to explore our part of the world than by taking a road trip? Whether your car takes you across your own province or throughout the Maritimes, the east coast of Canada is an exceptional part of the country to explore, a dollar is worth a dollar here, and it’s all right in our own backyard.

Although Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick share many similarities, each offers its own particular character, activities, and opportunities. 1) Anne of Green Gables

Lucy Maud Montgomery’s fictional character is a major tourist attraction, especially for visitors from Japan. She’s appeared in at least nine novels, been translated countless times, and has been adapted for stage, film, television, and she’s even been animated. 2) The Beach

PEI is home to 11,000 km of shoreline, according to Tourism PEI, and much of that is pristine beach area. Our sand and dunes lead to some of the most enticing waters imaginable, with both supervised and unsupervised beach areas fringing the entire province. 3) Golf

PEI is one of the world’s great golf destinations. More than 400 fairways are never more than minutes away, and here you can golf 10 of the Top 100 courses in Canada. 5) Confederation Bridge

Joining Prince Edward Island at Borden-Carlton to the mainland at Cape Jourimain, New Brunswick, the Confederation Bridge is one of the Island’s primary photo ops.
